‘Favourite Gold’ is the new track from Leeds band MASI MASI and it’s a shimmering electro indie-pop track that we can’t get enough of. While the band was supposed to be heading off on their first UK tour this month, but now can't due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions, they can at least entertain us through a track which marries up electro and indie-pop in a similar way to well-worn names MGMT, Cage The Elephant, Justice and STRFK. The transitional phases within ‘Favourite Gold’ are easily our favourite part of the production, which takes us from bouncing indie-pop to spacey synth riffs to an experimental breakdown. Topped off with a falsetto lead vocal and a moreish chorus, there’s a lot to like about MASI MASI’s expansive style. - Hannah Thacker
